Course Overview
The Australian Well Control Centre Enter and Work in Confined Spaces Program has been specifically designed for individuals that work across multiple of industries. Confined spaces are everywhere, and it is critical that workers know how to test atmospheres and work effectively in confined spaces. Confined spaces are Hazardous and need to be treated with the highest level of safety awareness.
The Enter and Work in Confined Spaces is run in conjunction with our Gas Test Atmospheres Program (GTA) MSMWHS217. For an additional $180 AUD, AWCC recommends combining your Enter and Work in Confined Spaces course with the GTA program to reduce the need for return training on separate days. Having these programs offered sequentially reduces the amount of operational downtime for training. Getting both core units completed in one day along with receiving the extra bonus units above presents great value and is an exclusive product offering brought to you by the Australian Well Control Centre.
Industry best practice under WHS guidelines suggests that testing an atmosphere before entering the confined space to work is critical to maintaining safety standards and most importantly the safety of site personnel.

The events above will be discussed in more detail in the AWCC Enter and Work in Confined Spaces program. All workers should be aware that toxic gasses are the silent killers and when tasked to work within these environments, they can be deadly. The Team at AWCC know this all to well with our instructors having a wide range of industry experiences and knowledge that they enthusiastically pass onto students. Knowledge saves lives and having a clear plan regarding how to work and on occasion survive these potentially dangerous situations is the AWCC point of difference.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this course you will be issued a statement of attainment for the below units of competency:
- MSMWHS217 Gas Test Atmospheres
- RIIWHS202E Enter and Work in Confined Spaces
Program Benefits
- AWCC have designed unique simulated environments for our participants to hone their skills while working in toxic and difficult conditions our world class simulators provide realistic scenarios that allow students to remain calm and think clearly allowing them to get colleagues or themselves out of trouble not into it. High risk training of this nature saves lives, there is no doubt.
- With the AWCC clustered program the student upon successful completion will receive the following Nationally Accredited Training:
- RIIWHS202E Enter and Work in Confined Spaces
- MSMWHS217 Gas Test Atmospheres
- Regular weekly scheduled training at AWCC facilities. No Cancellations
- Great Prices making quality training more affordable.
Learning Methods
The modes of delivery for this program will be Face to Face, classroom based supported by a number of practical activities utilising AWCC’s Smoke House and Confined Space Facilities, these activities are designed to satisfy the Practical Element and Assessment of the course.
The course has Training and Assessment Strategies that make the program relevant to a participant’s work life experience, work history and practical experience.
