Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety

There are no formal prerequisites other than LLN suitability required to enter into the AWCC – Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (BSB41419 ), however it is preferred that students meet the following criteria:

• Are 18 years or older
• Have sound language and literacy skills (at least Year 10 English, or equivalent)
• Having some form of industry experience will be an advantage but not mandatory.
• Have basic computer skills

5 Day Face-to-Face Workshop – AWCC deliver our Cert IV in WHS over a 1-week period effectively kick starting your career in WHS. AWCC unique deliver method over the 5 day period provides our student with the competitive edge to succeed.

The 1-Week Workshop is delivered face to face with a healthy mix of practical activities to make the program interesting packed full of real life examples which arms our student with the experience to make real life decisions within industry. Our highly experienced Instructors boast over 30 years of in-field experience and offer highly valuable knowledge and ongoing support for our students as required.

The highly popular AWCC Cert IV in WHS consists of the fundamental concepts regarding Workplace Health and Safety, specifically focused on the importance of Safety Culture and Compliance. The program requires the student to perform some out of class research, study and project submissions.

With the help of our highly experienced staff participants have 12 months to complete the qualification from their registration date.

Skill and knowledge assessments are an essential step in progressing through your Qualification. You may be assessed in a number of ways while you are studying with the Australian Well Control Centre.

Observation

A Facilitator will directly observe your performance of activities in a real or simulated workplace, role play or exercise, or a demonstration of practical skills.

Written assessment

Written assessments can take a number of forms including case studies, assignments, projects, workbooks, presentations, reports, reflective tasks, self-evaluation, and research projects. Your Facilitator will indicate what kind of written assessment you are expected to submit for each unit.

Questioning

Questioning generally takes place in the form of written question and answers, such as examinations and tests. Questions may also be made verbally to the participant who will then provide verbally the answer.

Portfolio

A portfolio is a collection of evidence of your skills. This could include collections of samples of your work, observation checklists, third-party reports, products with supporting documentation, historical evidence, training records, and journals, logbooks or work diaries.

Work samples

Work samples are products or items that you produce during your studies or project work.

Third-party feedback

Third-party feedback is information we gather from the people training or supervising you throughout your studies. Examples of evidence gathered includes interviews with employers, supervisors or peers; testimonials, reports or references from employers or supervisors; evidence of workplace training or vocational placement; and peer observation.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

We may gather information about your skill and knowledge levels through an RPL assessment or skill recognition process.
