Course Overview
Undertake Confined Spaces Rescue Course Prerequisites
The AWCC Confined Space Rescue Program includes the use of Breathing Apparatus. It is a requirement that all participants have completed Nationally Accredited Confined Space and Breathing Apparatus training within the last two years, these units must be current. The AWCC RTO 41356 will require evidence of your previous training.
- You must provide proof of the unit, Enter and work in confined space: RIIWHS202E that remains current being within the last 2 years. If the attainment period is outside of the 2 year requirement. Ask AWCC how we can help.
- Similarly candidates need to provide proof of currency having sat the Operate breathing apparatus: MSMWHS216 within the previous two years. If you cannot provide evidence, again, ask AWCC how we can help.
- When attending this program all participants need to be “Clean Shaven”. The Australian Standard (AS 1715) requires users to be Clean Shaven. The BA Units that AWCC utilise function best when the sealing line between head, face and jaw is “free of hair and foreign substances which could cause leakages”.
- Due to the physical nature of this program, participants need to be physically fit enough to perform all of the Practical Assessment activities. Persons who feel they will not be able to complete the physical aspects of this program should make arrangements to reschedule.
BA requirements in QLD: Workers should be clean-shaven where the respirator facepiece comes in contact with the skin before wearing their respirator. Students with non-compliant facial hair cannot meet the training requirements and therefore do not meet competency standards.
Upon successful completion of the Confined space rescue program, participants will be issued the following NAT Units
- PUASAR025 – Undertake confined space rescue
- PUASAR022 – Participate in a rescue operation
Upon request:
- PUAFIR210 – Prevent injury
Undertake Confined Space rescue Learning Methods
- AWCC can offer a 4 Day Program, this option includes the two AWCC recommended prerequisite units “Enter and Work in Confined Spaces” and “Operate Breathing Apparatus”.
- Theory Components will be face to face classroom based.
- Training at our East Brisbane facility in Brisbane.
- Training delivery also includes a series of life like, realistic practical simulations utilising our unique training simulators and .
Upon successful completion of this course, each participant will receive a number of Nationally Recognised Statements of Attainment.
