What is Chain of Responsibility?
Chain of Responsibility is an industry concept used in reference to the Heavy Vehicle National Law, the COR assists in defining a persons specific responsibilities in the supply chain of transport activities. Identifying an individuals personal responsibilities through COR education ultimately results in safer conditions on our roads.
Chain of Responsibility Level 1 Learning Outcomes
This unit will prepare the learner with the understanding of the COR (chain of responsibility) and its features. They will become highly familiar with its application and be empowered in the sense that they will be able to constructively discuss potential issues making a companies operations safer for those utilising our road systems. Legislative and regulatory requirements are applicable to this unit. The primary legislative requirement of this unit of competency is the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL).
Chain of Responsibility Level 1 Application of Skills and Knowledge
This unit delivers the skills and knowledge required to identify, apply and follow a COR system, understand the legislation regarding responsibility including the application of regulations and workplace procedures in relation to a specific individuals job role. Other important topic include:
- Applicable knowledge of state & territory regulations, and workplace procedures
- Knowledge of what constitutes a duty, breach & a penalty
- Chain of Responsibility regulations
- Company policy procedure around Chain of Responsibility for relevant job roles
- Correct reporting procedures
- Basic understanding of company structure
- Where to locate Chain of Responsibility information
- Consequences of non-compliance of Chain of Responsibility
- Action required when Chain of Responsibility breaches are identified
- Required workplace documentation
